Located in the heart of the former mining town of Murdochville, Mont Porphyre benefits from generous snowfall and offers terrain perfectly suited for ski touring. The secteur Familial features several beginner and intermediate runs, ideal for getting started. The Daltons sector, steeper and more sustained, features technical lines for experienced skiers. If unfamiliar with backcountry skiing and avalanche terrain, we strongly suggest booking a guide to explore this mountain.

Le Couloir provides exclusive access to several private backcountry areas in Haute-Gaspésie, including Mont-Louis, with its six glades carved into mature forest, and Mont-Saint-Pierre, renowned for its open zones, maple groves, and the iconic couloirs set below icefalls. The organization also holds guiding permits in alpine sectors of Gaspésie National Park — such as Mont Albert, Mont Ernest-Laforce, and Mont Macoun — as well as in the Chic-Chocs Wildlife Reserve, notably at Hog’s Back, Champ-de-Mars, and Mines Madeleine.
